The EVP is continuing the tradition
In the first two years of the State of Israel existence, we faced many challenges. Not the least was the attack on the new state by Arab armies with only one aim in mind - to destroy Israel before it could even become a state. A band of some 3500 brave volunteers from abroad, mostly people who had fought in the Second World War, came to Israel and served in the fledgling IDF - Israel's army. Their contribution to Israel's winning its War of Independence was immense as was their impact of the new country's future! This site is their story and an inspiration to us all. Thanks to Deb Campbell in Minnesota for showing me this site.
