EVP Team
The EVP team consists of some of Israel’s most experienced and dedicated professionals in the various areas of emergency aid. All have an immense amount of knowledge derived from their experience in emergency situations in Israel.
Many of the team personnel have experience on relief expeditions to other parts of the world suffering from major humanitarian emergencies. All team members have served in key positions in Israeli Emergency Services and know all too well what is demanded and needs to be done in times of crisis.
Our instructors belong to the emergency services that volunteers will be working with. They will ensure that EVP volunteers get the best training possible to prepare them the tasks that await them.
Jonathan Silman – CEO, IEAF
Jonathan Silman is the CEO of the "Israel Emergency Aid Fund". He is a much-respected lawyer specializing in cases of medical negligence, and has been working as a paramedic for the past 11 years.
Adi Zahavi – International Director, EVP
Adi has always been involved with security and rescue issues. These range from being in charge of planning and coordinating security systems to direct responsibility for anti-crime and anti-terrorist preventive actions.
Since 2001 Adi has been involved with medical rescue operations and has been involved in the response to practically every terrorist attack in Jerusalem, Adi has wide field experience in trauma and mass casualty events.
Dr. Dagan Schwartz M.D.
Dr. Schwartz is Head of the Emergency Department at “Rambam" hospital in Haifa, the largest hospital and only level one trauma center in the north. Dr. Schwartz is also Head of the School of Emergency Medicine at Ben–Gurion University.
He is active in many professional organizations devoted to emergency health care and has written many papers on the subject. He teaches and lectures on emergency medicine at universities and academic institutions as well as to the medical corps of the IDF.
Dr. Evan Weisman M.D.
Dr. Weisman is an associate with Partners HealthCare and is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College.
Dr. Weisman is board certified in Family practice and is affiliated with South Shore Hospital inBraintree, Massachusetts.
His clinical interests include preventative medicine and the full spectrum of adolescent and adult family medicine.
Police Supt. Gil Kleiman
Gil Kleiman, Israel National Police (INP) IED and EOD veteran and foreign press spokesperson with over 23 years of experience, has unsurpassed knowledge of on-site terror scene investigations, security assessments and media relations.
Holding a BA degree from George Washington University and an L.L.B. in Law from Bar- Ilan University, Gil Kleiman has superior abilities in analyzing terror crime scenes and Israel’s security situation.
Fire Chief Eyal Caspi - Project Commander
Eyal Caspi is the commanding officer of the Herzliya, Ramat HaSharon and Kfar Shmaryahu Fire and Rescue Stations. Previously he was in charge of training courses for Fire Service officers.
In addition to his present position, Eyal is Chairman of the Israel Fire Service Committee for Emergency Readiness and Preparation.
Dr.Joshua M. Kosowsky M.D.
Dr. Kosowsky is Clinical Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Kosowsky’s expertise is in the field of emergency cardiovascular care, directing a renowned chest-pain center and lecturing nationally and internationally on cardiovascular emergencies. He serves on the Institutional Review Board for Partners HealthCare and is an active reviewer for The Journal of Emergency Medicine and Annals of Emergency Medicine.
Marc Blitstein – American Friends of IEAF
Marc Blitstein is the Founding Chairman of the American Friends of Israel Emergency Aid Fund. Marc is a risk management consultant by professionand has worked with some of the world's largest organizations.
Marc attended Tel Aviv University and received his Bachelor of Business Administrationfrom Baruch College, CUNY.
Ran Zahavi
Ran Zahavi is the former Deputy Commander for MDA Jerusalem District and an airborne paramedic for the Hadassah Ein Kerem University Hospital.
Ran has
20 years of experience in terror emergency medicine.
Yossi Mendelovich
Yossi Mendelovich has been actively involved in Emergency Medicineand Emergency Medicine training for the past 15 years. He owns and operates an Emergency Medical training company working with the Israeli Defense Ministry, the Ministry for Homeland Security, the Prime Minister's office,
Israeli Secret Services Personal Protection units and the Israeli Police Force / SWAT teams.
During his years of army service, Yossi was commander of a medical unit in one of Israel's elite fighting units.
