First Responders With A Mission

Dear friends,

We in the EVP are proud to have been given the responsibility for building, organizing, running and coordinating a framework of dedicated and selfless volunteers willing to come to Israel’s aid during times of crisis.

After the Second Lebanese War, it was evident that Israel’s emergency services and local municipalities were swamped by the extent of assistance needed. Even though they gave 1000%, the members of the emergency services were severely short staffed.

The Emergency Volunteer Project which we have built in collaboration with emergency services and local municipalities in the north, south and center of the country, is a godsend to the people of Israel.

Our goal is to locate and recruit volunteers who can be deployed at short notice to the relevant emergency services in Israel. These specialized volunteers will be attached to their Israeli counterparts and will work with them to provide additional humanitarian support to civilians in shelters. This will increase the ability of the emergency services to respond quickly and efficiently to calls for help in times of conflict or crisis.

Volunteers are divided into 3 categories: Fire/Rescue teams, Medical and Social Field teams, and Community Emergency Support teams.

EVP Volunteers do not have to wait for a crisis in order to volunteer in Israel. All EVP volunteers can volunteer both during times of crisis or in times of relative quiet. Various voluntary tour programs, arranged by the EVP, are open to EVP members every year.

We need you! If you are concerned for the safety and wellbeing of Israel’s civilian population, the Emergency Volunteers Project needs you.

Sincerely yours,

Adi Zahavi
